About Notestaking
Most notes apps want your whole screen. Most notes only need a corner of it.
Notes apps keep growing: folders, tags, workspaces, sync settings. Open one and it takes over the screen, even when all you need is a line you'll forget by tonight.
Before Notestaking, my most important tasks were folders on my desktop. The folder names were the tasks, so I saw them every time I looked at my screen. It was a rough system, but it worked, because they were always visible and there was nothing to open.
Notestaking is that idea done properly. It lives in the menu bar and opens over whatever you're doing, whether that's a spreadsheet, a browser or a video call, so you can write something down mid-meeting without leaving the window you're in.
And there are only two places for things. Today is what's in front of you right now. Someday is everything else, out of sight until you want it. Most of a day doesn't need more structure than that.
Simple
Two tabs and a few shortcuts. No folders, tags or workspaces to look after.
Over everything
Opens above any app, full screen or not, and hides with Esc.
Today first
Focus on what matters now. Put the rest in Someday.
